This restaurant established since year 1928. I haven't jump out from my mom's stomach ler~~~ Older than me and this restaurant can be my grandfather's grandfather, i think...=p
Heard from some old KL people said that this restaurant actually famous in their breakfast, such as bread toast with their traditional style kaya and "Roti Babi" at 1st. Slowly, they got more foods to serve, like Hainanese Pork Chop, Kaya Swiss Roll, Homemade Marble Cake, Roasted Pork Roll etc.
Besides, the sauce they served is really impressed me... I never see people serve Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce in their restaurant except this! Click HERE if you don't know what is this sauce about..
Just heard a news which I don't know that is good news or bad news.... This Yut Kee Restaurant may move to new premise...click HERE if you want to read the news...
ehm..i think the beginning is a bit too long for you to read. So sorry...
Let's start the journey of the food hunting:
Here we are - Yut Kee Restaurant (镒记茶餐室)
The menu - Enlarge the photo if you want to check out the list and price
The Roasted Pork Roll - RM140/whole rack (Served every Friday to Sunday)
Roasted Pork - After cut @ RM14/2 slices
The skin of meat was magnificently crispy while it was tender.
Curry Chicken Rice @ RM5.80
Hainanese Pork Chop @ RM10
It gives me a very homely taste, with the healthy looking brown sauce, mum’s style potatoes and no fuss fried pork fillet with simple marinates. My friend told me that we should order their Hanainese Pork Chop or Chicken if we eat in a Hainanese Restaurant because that is their signature dish. We can value their restaurant's food quality through this. (I don't know how true of this statement) Anyway, I like pork chop with gravy~~~
Hainanese Chicken Chop @ RM8.50
Roti Babi @ RM8.00
Fried Hokkien Mee @ RM6.00
They got a good chef with stir fried. The heat of the Hokkien Mee is just perfect. Usually I won't order this because I hate the "overtaste" of soy sauce. But, this one is fine for me. I like this!
Kaya Swiss Roll @ RM8.00/box
They have their special traditional style Kaya recipe and it's really fragrance. You definitely can imagine the smell if you like Kaya too. =) This Kaya Swiss Roll is smell good not only from the fragrance of Kaya, it's also from the eggs. I am not dessert person, I don't like cakes. But this! You have to try! (It's better when it's hot!)
Done! That's all I have to show you. May be I should order a bread toast to let you see the Traditional Style Kaya. Anyway, you should go and try before I go again.
